I’m a data-driven researcher and strategic communicator with a passion for making complex ideas clear, honest, and accessible. I’ve built my career in journalism and higher education by analyzing data and crafting audience-centered narratives, whether in fast-paced newsrooms or in the classroom. My background spans major metropolitan newspapers (Chicago Tribune, Minnesota Star Tribune) and emerging social media and AI platforms.

As a tenured associate professor in the nationally accredited Department of Communication, Journalism, and Media at Shippensburg University, I lead original research on digital disruption and media innovation, contribute to thought leadership on transparency and public trust, and help prepare future media professionals. I direct the university’s graduate program in strategic communication and have developed industry-aligned instruction in media literacy, applied research, and social media strategy.

With roots in both social science and journalism, I combine methodological rigor and editorial instinct. I’m equally adept at designing surveys or experiments and writing research reports, running advanced statistical tests, and developing creative data visualizations.
